Some of the founding faculty members of the Department of Food Engineering, founded in 1975 as the Department of Food Analysis and Technology, were actually faculty members at the Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences, founded in 1971. The Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences was present until 1975 for graduate studies.
